What is going on at Mahavir Enclave Palam Road

Any idea what is going on at Mahavir Enclave Palam Road (left turn from under the Dwarka flyover) - the crossing has been dug up and the buses leave the passengers far ahead from the crossing instead of dropping at the actual Dwarka road, from where they, including the aged and women with small children are forced to walk all the way braving the traffic, potholes ridden road in such chilly winter!

Interconnectivity between the Dwarka sectors

Any idea when are the interconnecting bus services starting to-and-from the sectors within Dwarka?

I can see the DTC buses which go to NOIDA but it would be better if we can have something which the local resident can use to travel between the sectors - say from the market and back?

Ain't it just pathetic - The gross misuse which we subject our public resources to, when we know very well that we can't even dream of 'Our Very Existence' without them!

What are we teaching our children , by MIS-Guiding them with such seemingly innocent statements, instead of teaching them, what the label on the door means - KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE DOORS and the IMPORTANT reason behind them.

Have we ever wondered what removing such VITAL public signages could result in.

Has it never come to our mind that - some elderly person might be travelling for the first time or some pregnant mother might be just leaning against the same UNLABELLED door - WHEN the door suddenly opens and... someone could get killed before coming in this world!

DO we have the right to do so?

Some of you might be saying - It is their job, they are getting paid for ensuring the upkeep and putting the labels back etc.! - I ask, Why! Are WE not to be blamed and held acountable to some extent if not equally - The INCIDENT HAPPENDED in front of US. We were mute spectators to this! Did we raise the concern, stop them, report this defacing! Instead we simply turn a blind eye to all this?

It IS high time that we behave and ACT as SOCIAL beings! It is time we do some introspection and JUDGE Our-Own-Selfish-Selves first before blaming the authorities and others for the poor quality of the services etc.

Vehicles down the Drain

"Miyaan Ji! Sardi apne poore shabab par hai, aur aap bhi " - this is what every Delhite is saying now-a-days.

Alongwith the enjoyment and the much needed Nizaat from the scorching heat, the winter brings with it - fog resulting in near-zero visibility and thus......accidents.

When you go to the Ashirwad Chowk enroute the St. Gregorious School, you negotiate the curvacious road atop the drain in the dense fog. Even in summers, the are is accident prone, because

1) There is no railing alongside the narrow bend at the bridge itself

2) There are huge bushes which add to the reduction of the visibility

3) Stench coming from the drain also diverts the attention of the drivers

4) Occassionally policeman have been seen at the bend - but their sole aim (usually) being to encash the opportunity of catching drivers without helmets

These can easily be catered to by

1) Getting operational street lights near to the narrow bridge

2) Putting a sign board stating in BIG BRIGHT READ COLOR - Caution! Narrow Brigde/ Narrow Bend Ahead!

3) Getting the bush removed

The apathy is that this death spot has yet to find the attention of the media and other agencies because of which it it simlpy being turned a blid eye!

It would be better if the concerned authorities would pay attention towards closing these gaps in the right earnest, before some major incident happens at the the bridge!

Absence of proper lighting in the areas near Sector 9 metro station

As you would have also seen, many Dwarkites vis-a-vis Delhites are avid walkers (you can see many persons all decked up in their coats/sweaters etc for that morning walk- so they naturally tend to walk whenever possible rather than board rickshaw, bikes, cars etc.

But when the weary traveller deboards the metro at Sector 9, and makes an exit from this terminal station, he is left with no option other than to walk through thick growth (grass and bushes) in pitch darkness.

This is not common to the Sector 9 station - in fact, if you take a look at any sector in Dwakra, it seems the authorities have turned a blind eye to the area behind the buildings, arterial roads et all - this growth is ideal breeding ground for snakes and other such dangerous elements of the society like robbers, pickpockets, thiefs etc.

It is high time that the concerned authorities -

1) get proper lighting done in at least these areas on which roads have been construited - because of which the persons tend to take the road for walking back to house

2) regularly enforce the trimming of the redundant growth - thereby also adding to the scenic beautification of Dwarka, as a whole
